"To make the right choices in life, you have to get in touch with your soul. to do this, you need to experience solitude which most people are afraid of, because in the silence, you hear the truth and know the solutions." ~Deepak Chopra
Hi Wellness Enthusiast- Happy New Year! When I started my yoga practice nearly two decades ago, I recall dashing out the door of Susan Malcolm's class before shavasana (resting pose) with a long "to do" list. Each time, Susan reminded me that I was missing the most healing component of the yoga practice. Clearly, I didn't understand! I felt compelled to move on to my next task as quickly as possible. By frenetically rushing around, I believed that busyness made me feel a sense of importance and purpose. Now, in retrospect, I understand that I was avoiding sitting alone with my uncomfortable thoughts. That idea simply terrified me! If this resonates with you, please know that you are not alone. Connecting with the truth of your story and circumstances is daunting! My transformation began when I joined a local meditation group in 2010. Simultaneously, I began working one-on-one with my mentor, Dr. Paul Epstein. Paul taught me a new approach to exploring my inner world. By bringing curiosity and kindness to the process, I could be open to my discoveries without judgement. In order to heal myself, I had to understand the truth of my story. I learned to listen with an open heart, surrender to it, then integrate my own wisdom and compassion. I could have never done it without Paul's loving guidance and the support of twenty dear women in my meditation group. I have created new habits with how I "be" with myself. Now, all that arises is welcome: the good, the bad and the ugly! This practice allows me to be fully present and accepting of my three daughters, clients and loved ones in my life. My issues with mindless eating have subsided in the process, too. We must feel everything! You, too, can heal yourself with compassion, curiosity and patience. If you're committed to making 2021 the year of transformation, reach out to chat. We are all connected as spiritual beings, attempting to manage external stimuli, so we can thrive. I know firsthand that it takes time, and is not a solo job! Join me for my program
